Ellen Hughes, Director

Ellen Hughes studied English at Oxford, then went to Kings College London, and RADA, where she gained an MA in Text and Performance Studies (Distinction). She has directed new plays in London, Oxford and Edinburgh, including Grass and The Bodysnatchers by Simon Rae. She has also directed Shakespeare (As You Like It) and was on the National Theatre Studio Director's Programme this year.

Simon Rae, Writer

Simon Rae was presenter of Radio 4's Poetry Please !  and wrote and presented a number of other radio programmes in the 90s. For ten years he contributed topical poems to the Guardian , collected in two volumes Soft Targets (illustrated by Willie Rushton) and Rapid Response. Since then he has written the definitive biography of W.G. Grace and a number of plays. In 1999, he won the National Poetry Competition and, with Ronald Searle, published a limited edition of The Face of War. The Face of War has now been reprinted by Top Edge Press.

David Keller, Actor

David Keller trained at RADA and has performed with a number of theatre companies, including the RSC. Leading roles include Othello, Antony (Antony and Cleopatra), and Leontes (The Winter's Tale), John Maerrick (The Elephant Man), Dr Dysart (Equus) and John Clare in Simon Rae's Grass. He has also produced and directed Hamlet and Othello. television includes Napoleon in World at Arms.
